WHAT WE DID. Conversion & Addition
LOCATION. Queen West Animal Hospital
 Toronto, Ontario

The existing funeral home was converted for one of Toronto’s top Animal Hospitals. The two main floors and basement went through a complete gut and rebuild. The partial third floor was removed and replaced with a new third floor over 90% of the building. The converted building now is host to a 10,000 sq. ft animal hospital which includes traditional pet services, surgery, day-boarding, and hydrotherapy rehabilitation. The new third floor houses the corporate headquarters for one of Toronto's leading independent restauranteurs.

This collaborative effort involved consultants from across North America and the GTA. The result will be hailed as one of Toronto's best adaptive reused building. In an age of knocking down old buildings, the owners painstakingly had the 125 year old brickwork uncovered of its fake stone and restored the brickwork details wherever possible. The brickwork was then sealed and painted to prevent any further deterioration.
